Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Harold Anthony Belaire, 78, who passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Memorial Mass. Inurnment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Harold was born on July 28,1940 in Breaux Bridge to the late Freddie and Birdie LeBlanc Belaire. He was an official court reporter for the 15th Judicial District Court for over 50 years before he retired in 2018. He attended St. Bernard Catholic School where he played basketball.
Harold was a member of the St. Bernard Choir for many years and also sang for weddings. He was an avid tennis player and loved spending time on the court with his friends. He enjoyed going to the casino and looked forward to his weekly games of bourrée and euchre. He was happiest spending time with his grandchildren.
Harold’s sense of humor and love of life will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sedonia Louise Thevenet Belaire; son, Todd Anthony Belaire; daughter, Leah Belaire Foley and husband Fritz. Popi’s grandsons are Quinn Thomas Foley and Alexander Belaire Foley.
