New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Harold Charles Chauvin, 95, who died Friday, November 10, 2006 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
Entombment will be in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
Fr. Charles E. Langlois, pastor of St. Peter Catholic Church will conduct the services.
Mr. Chauvin served as a De LaSalle Christian Brother for 20 years and was an educator at St. Peter's College in New Iberia. He was a loving husband, father, and faithful servant of God.
He received his education from the Christian Brothers and obtained his B.S. from a college affiliated with the Christian Brothers in New York and his Master's degree from St. Mary's in San Antonio, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hebert Chauvin of New Iberia; his sons, Louis Patrick Baldridge and his wife, Phyllis Arceneaux Baldridge and Christopher Adam Baldridge and his wife, Melinda Peltier, all of New Iberia; his daughters, Adrienne Chauvin of New Iberia and Renee' Morimoto and her husband, Dr. Garth Morimoto of Honolulu; eight grandchildren, Jamie Fanol, Alexandra and Dominic Morimoto, Maggie and Christopher Charles Louis Baldridge, Jeremy and Jamie Baldridge and Cassie Baldridge; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Cornelius Theriot Chauvin; three brothers and four sisters.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2006; continue at 1:00 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. on Monday; and continue at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2006.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Charles Fanol, Christopher Baldridge, Chris Baldridge, Louis Patrick Baldridge, Jeremy Baldridge, and C.L. Delahoussaye.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dominic Morimoto, Jamie Baldridge, Joey Hebert, Ellis Hargrave, George Betar, Jr., Godfrey Boudreaux, Robert Quereau, Jacques Quereau, V.H. Barksdale, Dr. James C. Walker, Marquie Issac, Jordon David Lamothe and Paul Schwing, and Ronald Fremin.
Pellerin Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
