Harold Granger

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Friday, June 14, 2013, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Harold Bernard Granger, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 10:30 am until 10:00 pm on Thursday and continue at 8:00 am until 9:45 am on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday. Rev. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Nicole Granger and Lelia Brooker. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Mr. Granger was a parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church and served as an Usher. He was a member of the Catahoula Volunteer Fire Department and coached and managed Catahoula Girls Softball for many years. As a pastime he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and picking pecans. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Goldie B. Granger of Catahoula; one son, Harold "Al" (Cindy) Granger of Youngsville; four daughters, Cherie (Russel) Foti of Catahoula, Kathy (Pat) Talley of St. Martinville, Maria Champagne of Catahoula, and Melissa (Warren) Lovejoy of Parks; his brother, Paul (Roberta"Tiny") Granger of Lafayette; 16 grandchildren, Rusty Foti, Katy Champan, Hunter Foti, Pat Talley, John Talley, Mary Talley, Lelia Brooker, Jereth Champagne, Casey Granger, Nicole Granger, Chris Granger, Shanya Lovejoy, Adam Lovejoy, Michael Lovejoy, Jeffrey Welch, and Matt Lovejoy; and 4 great grandchildren, Gabrielle Foti, Mia Foti, Elliot Chapman, and Kira Brooke. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elba LeBlanc Granger; three sisters, Frances Breaux, Bertha Guidry, and Hazel Judice; and one brother, Percy Granger. Pallbearers will be Rusty Foti, Patrick Talley, John Talley, Casey Granger, Jereth Champagne, and Adam Lovejoy. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Foti, Christopher Granger, Matthew Lovejoy, Michael Lovejoy, Jeffrey Welch, and his sons-in-law.
