Harold J. Guidry

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, November 2, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Harold John Guidry, 69, who passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at his residence in Cecilia. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Donald Pousson will officiate at the funeral Mass. The eulogy will be delivered by Rev. Gregory Mills. The reader will be Cheryl Guidry, and his grandchildren, Tori Michael Guidry and Chelsy Lee Guidry, will serve as gift bearers. Harold was an avid fan of Cecilia High School Football and a strong supporter of their athletic programs. He was also a fan of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Harold was known to be a practical joker amongst his family and friends. He was a wonderful cook and loved preparing meals for family gatherings. Harold was always ready to take a road trip, no matter the destination. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, horseracing, talking on the phone, and spending time with family and friends, especially his wife, Lynda, of 46 years. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Thomassee Guidry, of Cecilia; his son, Lance Mitchell Guidry and his wife, Christina; his daughters, Stacey Lee Guidry and her husband, Dane and Holli Marie Stutes and her husband, James, all of Cecilia; his brothers, Liney Guidry and his wife, Carol, of Baton Rouge, Robley Mac Guidry and his wife, Barbara, and Curnal Tee Guidry and his wife, Cheryl, all of Cecilia; his grandchildren, Tori Michael Guidry and Chelsy Lee Guidry, both of Cecilia; his mother-in-law, Lorna Thomassee, of Cecilia; his sister-in-law, Elaine Guidry, of Cecilia; and ;many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anlow and Amanda Duplechin Guidry; his brother, Floyd Guidry; his grandson, Alex Mitchell Guidry, his father-in-law, Frank Thomassee and his in-laws, Bill and Glo Thomassee. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2009 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Lance M. Guidry, Dane Guidry, James Stutes, Bryant Thomassee, Randall Guidry and Terry Dauphine. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremiah Scrantz, Frank Thomassee, Jr., and Donald Dauphine. The family would like to express their gratitude to his caregiver, Christy Davis; his niece, Tanya Wiltz; and Heart of Hospice caregivers, Shelby Credeur and Rachel Jackson.
