St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Harold ""Ha-Ray"" Lasseigne, 72, who passed away on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, in St. Martinville.
Harold began his career moving houses and that developed into his first business in house leveling. ?He was a true working man. ?He also, worked in the shipyard and oilfield business. ?Since his retirement he was employed by the St. Martin Parish City Hall. ?His pleasures in life were farming, gardening, getting on his tractor and most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving companion, Cecile Sam of St. Martinville; his sons, Lloyd J. Lasseigne of St. Martinville and John A. Lasseigne and his companion, Martha Wiltz of Lafayette; his daughters, Gloria Lasseigne Gedward and her husband, Arthur and Sandra Lasseigne Knatt and her husband, John all of St. Martinville; his sisters, Eva Walker, Mary Williams, Anna Mae Johnson all of Loreauville and Delores Bourda and her husband, Lindsey of St. Martinville; his numerous nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Tameika Jenkins, Jamica Lasseigne, Cartessa Zeno, LaShonda DeRouen, Travis Benjamin, Alisha Lasseigne, Miranda Knatt and Dion Milton; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Jones Lasseigne; and his brother, Paul Lasseigne.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008, until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.
