Harold 'Rock' Racca

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Harold "Rock" Racca, Sr., 78, who passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, in Lafayette. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 8:00 am until 2:15 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am by the Knights of Columbus. A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Mr. Racca was born on June 7, 1939 to the late Edias and Marie Hebert Racca. He worked in the oilfield most of his life, retiring from Superior Derrick in 2016, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ben L. Kiper Council at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Mr. Racca enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Racca of New Iberia, Tina Racca Kading of New Iberia, Vanessa Racca LaCombe of New Iberia, Bonnie Racca Rogers and husband Irving of Jeanerette; sons, Harold Paul Racca, Jr. and wife Melissa of New Iberia, Rocky Racca and wife Dinell of Magnolia, Arkansas, Phillip Racca of New Iberia, Troy Racca of Jeanerette; brother, Thomas Racca and wife Lorraine of New Iberia; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Mouton Racca; daughters, Evelyn Marie Racca, and Sandy Annette Racca; granddaughter, Angel Rogers; sons-in-law, Clarence LaCombe, and Jeff Kading, Sr.; brothers, Jerry Racca, Shelby Racca; and sisters, Faye Racca Covington and Delores Racca. Pallbearers will be Colby Kading, Travis Racca, Joshua Racca, Brady Rogers, Jordy Rogers, Dylan Racca, Jerrod Racca. The family would like to give special thanks to Mr. Raccas nurse, Katie May, at the Heart Hospital in Lafayette.
