Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Harold Robin, 74, who died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Entombment will be in St. Michael Mausoleum in Henderson.
Mr. Robin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was the first appointed Chief of Police of the Town of Henderson. He also served as town councilman for two consecutive terms. Mr. Robin worked as a swamp tour guide at McGee's Landing for 11 years.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruby Patin Robin of Henderson; his daughters, Arlene Dupuis and her husband Eddie, Bridget Robin Barras all of Breaux Bridge, Judy Olivier and her husband Eddie of Arnaudville; his brothers, Milton Noel, Tony Robin, Dalton Robin, all of Breaux Bridge, and Jerry Robin of Henderson; his sisters, Rita Savoie of Cecilia, Lorraine LeBlanc, Nolia Allemond, both of Henderson, Loretta Robin, Norma Morain, both of Krotz Springs and Theresa Castille of Lawtell; his step-mother, Viola Robin Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge; 4 grandchildren, Brock Dupuis and his wife, Christy, Brook Dupuis, Jeremy and Grant Barras; and 1 great grandchild, Gage Dupuis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Robin Sr.; his mother, Bridgette Noel Robin; his brothers, Ernest and Aristille Robin; his sisters, Ezar Willingham, Laura Robin and Gladys Hebert.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Drs. Gary Guidry and Debra Johnson, and the nurses and staff of Lafayette General Medical Center for the care that was given to Mr. Harold during his stay.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am till 10:00 pm, Wednesday, March 29, 2006 and continue at 8:00 am, Thursday, March 30, 2006 until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 29, 2006.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Dupuis, Eddie Olivier, Brock Dupuis, Tony Robin, Dalton Robin, Irving Patin, Thomas Patin and Earl "Tobit" Patin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brook Dupuis, Jeremy Barras, Grant Barras and Gage Dupuis.
