Harold Robert Semere

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Harold Robert Semere, 72, who passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Allen Breaux will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Lacy Wiltz, Dana R. Thibeaux, and Natalee Semere. Gifts will be presented to the Altar by Lauren Semere, Bethany Landry and Sara Frederick. His obituary will be read by Yolanda Cook. Harold was a farmer who loved farm life and watching whatever he planted grow, while also providing produce to feed his family. He loved sharing his knowledge of farm life with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harold also enjoyed crawfishing and horseback riding, when he wasn't busy in the fields. He was a man who loved spending time with his family and friends, especially the Christmas holiday, which was his favorite holiday of all. Not only would he celebrate Christmas with his family, but they would also celebrate his birthday, which was on December 24th. Harold will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Williams Semere, of Arnaudville; three sons, Henry Semere (Louella), of Breaux Bridge, Harold Joseph Semere (Elaine), of Cecilia, and Horace Semere (Lisa), of Slidell; four daughters, Mary Jeanne Semere, Geraldine Calais, both of Cecilia, Earline Ben (Jessie), of Carencro, and Leola Wiltz (Michael), of Cecilia; two brothers, Ansely Semere (Olita) and Eugene Semere; one sister, Mavis Frederick (Audrey), all of Cecilia; 14 grandchildren, Grayland Semere, Natalee Semere, Aaron Roberts, Dana Roberts Thibeaux, Clifton Calais, Stephen Gathe, Tyrone Gathe, Kyle Ben, Lacy Wiltz, Marcus Wiltz, Resley Landry, Jr., Bethany Landry, Lauren Semere, Philip Semere, Jessie Ben, Jr., Sholand Arvie, Cassondra Ben, Sondra Ben, and Darwin Ben; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Adelle Goodie Semere; and a brother, Hilary Semere. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Pallbearers will be Aaron Roberts, Grayland Semere, Stephen Gathe, Clifton Calais, Marcus Wiltz, and Tyrone Gathe. Honorary pallbearers will be Philip Semere, Kyle Ben, Resley Landry, Jr., and Jessie Ben, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
