Harold Taylor

Arnaudville- Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Harold Antoine Taylor, 81, who passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Fr. Austin Leger will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Lillian David. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery. An avid outdoorsman, Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time, and was known to be quite a handy-man. He worked as a janitor at Cecilia Elementary for almost 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Bergeron Taylor of Opelousas; one son, Tony Taylor and wife, Sharon, of Natchitoches, LA; three daughters, Josie Zerangue of Leonville, Rena Guidroz and husband, Nolan, of Port Barre, and Rosa Bell 'Rita' Savoie of Cecilia; two step sons, Walter Wyatt and wife, Shirley, and Michael Wyatt; five step daughters, Lillian David and husband, Bubba, Juliet Conterez and husband, Richard, Cindy Lilika and husband, Pete, Josie Flanagan, and Evelyn Burleigh and husband, Sonny; his daughter-in-law, Barbara Taylor; 24 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosa Bell Bergeron Taylor; two sons, Willie and James Taylor; a daughter, Emaline Stelly; his parents, Leo and Ella Guidry Taylor; his brothers, Leroy, Preston, Lawlee, Mose, Jerome 'A.J.', and Calvin Taylor; his sisters, Evelyn Taylor, Thelma Guidry, and Nita Wyble; and his son-in-law, Johnny Zerangue. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Mike Wyatt, Walter Wyatt, Frank Meche, Brent Savoie, and John Savoie. Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudvilleis in charge of arrangements.
