Harold Paul Viator

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Harold Paul Viator, 79, who passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Brian Harrington will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Monday. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am. A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Mr. Viator was born on November 3, 1937 to the late Paul and Norma Viator. He proudly served our country in the United States National Guard, and retired from the State Department of Transportation. Mr. Viator was a member of the Cajun French Music Association and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing his according, camping, woodworking, taking care of his pets, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughters, Tammy Romero and husband Larry of New Iberia, Shelia Viator and husband Troy Bonin of New Iberia; grandchildren, Heather Dartez and fiance' Chad Derouen of New Iberia, Joshua Speer and wife Rebekah of New Iberia; great grandchildren, Carlie Dartez, Kaiden Dartez, Hope Dartez, Joshua Speer, Jr., Daniel Hallmark, Sylar Speer, Zoey Speer, Jaxson Romero; and his beloved dog, "Buddy". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juliet Marie Picard Viator, and a brother, Jeffery Viator. Pallbearers will be Troy Bonin, Larry Romero, Jeffery Viator Jr., Ronnie Dore, Harold Bertrand, and Leeward Broussard. Honorary pallbearers include Joshua Speer, and Heather Dartez.
