Harriet Marie Jones

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Harriet Marie Jones, 46, who passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Harriet enjoyed playing cards, taking care of all her sisters children, dancing, visiting family and friends, attending her weekly Masses, taking prayer request over the phone for those in need, and praying her rosary daily. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Jones of St. Martinville; sisters, Carolyn Etienne and husband Jules of St. Martinville, Sherry Leon of Parks, Patricia Jones and husband Shawn Mitchell of Loreauville, Henrietta Jones of St. Martinville, and Alfreda Jones of St. Martinville; brothers, Alfred Jones, III and Christopher Lee Jones, both of St. Martinville; and her companion, Carlton Davis of St. Martinville. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Nicholas Jones, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Anna Mae and Gabriel Leon, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Rose and Alfred Jones, Sr. Pallbearers will be Alfred Jones III, Shawn Mitchell, Clayton Gilbert, Joseph Leon Jr., Harold Lewis, and Jonathan Etienne. Honorary pallbearers will be David Jones, Travis Jones, Michael Jones, Brandon Jones, Jules Etienne Jr., Kevin Etienne, Jason Etienne, Braylon Etienne, Cayson Etienne, Shawn Mitchell Jr., and Keyshawn Mitchell.
