Harris Joseph Breaux

New Iberia Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Harris Joseph Breaux, 80, who died on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 1:00 PM until 9:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Breaux was born on June 29, 1934 on Weeks Island to Lesson and Odette Jolet Breaux. He retired from Texaco after 35 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Breaux enjoyed repairing things, and making rosaries. Survivors include his children, Steven Breaux and wife Leanne of New Iberia, Darilyn Dee Witten and husband Stephen of New Iberia, Troy Breaux and fiance, Christine Candelario of the Philippines; grandchildren, Chuck McGrew and wife Melinda of Carencro, Tech. Sgt. Ryan Breaux, U.S. Air Force and wife Sarah of Oregon, Jene Breaux of New Iberia, Brandi Wilson of New Iberia, Shelly Witten Lucas and husband Tim of Pensacola, Florida, Codi Noel Jeansonne of New Iberia, Chance Breaux of the Philippines; great grandchildren, Angela McGrew, Brandon McGrew, Cole Forrester, Timothy Lucas, II, Stephen Lucas, Melissa LeBlanc; sister, Bernice Broussard of Lydia; numerous nieces and nephews; and his companion, Arlene Morris of Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Hipp Breaux; sisters, Anna Broussard, and Odette Topsy Landry. Pallbearers will be Stephen Witten, Tim Lucas, Steven Breaux, Troy Breaux, Chance Breaux, and Chuck McGrew.
