Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Harris A. Guilbeau, 82, who died Monday, July 11, 2005 at his residence.
Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson.
Mr. Guilbeau was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He enjoyed spending his time working in his vegetable garden.
Survivors include his wife, Adelle Dupuis Guilbeau of Henderson; his daughter, Barbara Barras, and her husband, Louis, Sr. of Catahoula; four grandchildren, Louis Barras, II and his wife, Paula of Catahoula, Mitchell Barras and his wife Mia of Duson, Charlotte Smith of Carencro, and Joey Barras and his wife, Rachelle of Catahoula; and ten great grandchildren, Tristan, Jade, Lainnie Barras, Shannan Smith, Tyler Smith, Trey Smith, Asia Smith, John and Brandon Barras, and Ambre Barras.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sosthene and Angella Scrantz Guilbeau; three brothers, Louis, Mitchell and Murphy Guilbeau; and his sister, Alice Guilbeau.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 8 AM ~ 10:30 PM on Wednesday and continue at 8 AM on Thursday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Barras, Joey Barras, Louis Barras, II, Charles P. Carroll, Ike Huval, and Glenwood Berard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Barras, Sr. and Dr. Jim Bozeman.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, Lisa Caffery, Dr. Chastant, Jo Doucet and aides, and Dr. Cole.
