Harrison Paul Pickney

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Harrison Paul Pickney, 75, who passed away at his residence surrounded by his family.

 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

 

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Saturday.

 

Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville, LA.

 

Harrison was born on December 07, 1946.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, and watching his children and grandchildren play baseball and football. Harrison was a family man who taught his children all about work ethics and how to always be kind and honest in life.

 

Harrison will be remembered as a hardworking man who provided a good life for his family and expressed kindness to those in need with a generous heart.

 

He is survived by  his wife of 56 years, Helen Babineaux Pickney; sons, Harry (Andrea) Pickney, Raymond (Tracey) Pickney, and Steven Pickney; daughter, Tomicka Pickney (Nicholas); brothers, George (Dedria) Pickney and Valderie Junius (June) Pickney; sister, Hilda Pickney; sister-in-law, Lillian Pickney; grandchildren, Dr. Thea Pickney-Jackson, Alexis Pickney, Isaiah Pickney, Angele Pickney, Davantre Alexander,  Raymond Pickney, Jr., Ezekiel Pickney, Imani Alexander,  Jakaylon Alexander; and great-grandchildren, Karsen Jackson, Kase Jackson, Carter Pickney, and Hope Pickney.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Pickney; and his brothers, Joseph Pickney Jr and Harold Pickney. 

 

Pallbearers will be John, Marshall, Clarence and Donald Babineaux, and Davantre and Jakaylon Alexander.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Pickney, Ezekiel Pickney, Raymond Pickney, Jr., and Lawrence Babineaux.
