Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Harry Savoy, 88, of Poche Bridge, who passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Friday. Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Mr. Savoy attended college at SLI in Lafayette. He worked for Shell for 15 years and Pensco for 25 years. Harry enjoyed his 61 Chevy, watching NASCAR racing and basketball. Harry and his wife were married for almost 50 years. He will be remembered as being a wonderful dad and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Mark Savoy and his wife Anna of Lafayette; daughter, Kathy Duplechien and her husband, Farrel of Lafayette; his sister, Melda Neely of Lake Jackson, TX; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Savoy, his father, Despanie Savoy; his mother, Lita Arnaud Savoy; his son, John David Savoy; his brother, Cleve Savoy; and his sisters, Irene Gaithe and Lorena Fruge. The family is very grateful to the sitters, home health, doctors and nurses who took care of him for the past ten years.
