St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Harry Peter Sinegal, Sr., 68, who passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012, Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Fr. Stanley will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Dora Bruno and Adrienne Senegal. Gift Bearers will be Dominique Sinegal, Demetrius Sinegal, and Valenicia Roy. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Saint Martinville. Harry was a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, but on the other hand, he also loved getting dressed-up for church on Sundays. Harry looked forward to the holidays; Thanksgiving and Christmas were two of his favorites. What he looked forward to and enjoyed the most, was boiling crawfish for his family on Good Friday, each and every year. Harry's most memorable times were those spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Leora Potier Sinegal of Saint Martinville; two sons, Harry Senegal Jr. of St. Martinville and Clayton (Sabrina) Sinegal of North Carolina; two daughters, Trisha (Avery) Roy ;and Joanne Gammage, all ;of Houston, TX; three brothers, Alton (Leona) Sinegal Sr. of Lafayette, Norris (Ella) Sinegal of Rossenburg, TX, and Junius (Bonnie) Sinegal of Breaux Bridge; four sisters, Bertha Johnson of Cypress Island, Althea (Leo) Davis of Catahoula, Rena Ames and Theresa (William) Faulk, all of St. Martinville; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horrace and Felecia Simon Sinegal; two brothers, Horace and Dalton Sinegal; and two sisters, Altamae William and Alice Auguillard. Pallbearers will be Daniel Francois, Ferris Sinegal, Harry Senegal Jr., Clayton Sinegal, Quinton Sinegal, Avery Roy, and Althea Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Alton Sinegal Sr., Leonard Potier, Norris Sinegal, and Junius Sinegal.
