St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Hattie M. George Tripeaux, 63, who passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Hattie was born in Lafayette, to the late William, Sr. and Mary Jean Batiste George. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. Hattie was employed with Martin Mills for 20 years and was a caregiver to her brothers, Eddie, Edmond, and William for several years. She was always there for others and helped those in their time of need. Hattie enjoyed shopping, baking cakes and cookies, eating out with her daughter and grandkids, and spending time with family and friends. She was a faithful parishioner of Notre Dame and lived a prayerful life. Hattie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Jules J. Tripeaux and wife Tammy; daughter, Heather M. Tripeaux; brothers, Alvin George, Steve George, Calvin George, Collins George and wife Barbara, Edmond George, Eddie George, Lennis George, and William George, Jr. and wife Celestine; sister, Patricia G. Williams and husband Andrew; and grandchildren, Stevontrae W. Ceaser, Steve W. Ceaser, III, Douangsivanh Ashton Tripeaux, Masha Lilliana Tripeaux, Khanthi Rylan Tripeaux, and Kakee Jules Tripeaux.
She was preceded in death by her father, William George, Sr., mother, Mary Jean Batiste George; brother, Mark George; sister, Shirley Ann Brown; and nephew, Stevie George.
Pallbearers will be Jules J. Tripeaux, Jamal Wilkins, Ron George, Isiah Williams, Lazarus George, and Jude Tripeaux.
