Hazel Angelle

Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Hazel Champagne Angelle, 87, who passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Vee and Carla Champagne. Gift bearers will be Kelly, Emma, and Luke Denais, and Kathy Santillo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Mrs. Angelle was retired from the St. Martin Parish School Board, where she worked as a supervisor in the cafeteria for 32 years, and was also the co-owner of Angelle's Whiskey River Landing. She was meticulous about cleaning her house and loved to cook for her family on any given occasion. Being the business woman she was, it brought her great joy and pleasure to meet people from all walks of life - once she met you, you were considered a friend for life. Survivors include two sons, Dwight Angelle and his fiance, Kathy, of Cecilia, and Terry Angelle of Grand Anse; two brothers, Carroll Champagne and Eugene Champagne, of Breaux Bridge; one grandchild, Kelly Denais; and two great grandchildren, Luke and Emma Denais. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Angelle; her parents, Pierre and Jean Hebert Champagne; and a grandson, Jerod Angelle. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited by Vee Champagne at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dwight and Dean Angelle, Brook, Blake and Brent Champagne, Kevin Denais, and Shane Champagne.
