New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Hazel Menard Dugas, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in Baton Rouge.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Steve Horn will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Son Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon.
A native of New Iberia from the age of two, Hazel Marie Menard Dugas passed away after a brief battle with endocarditis. She was devoted wife and caregiver to her husband of 63 years, and a loving mother to four children. Hazel loved working in her yard, was a talented seamstress, and was a wonderful cook. A charter member of Highland Baptist Church, Hazel remained active in its ministries until the time of her death. Her faithful service to God, family, and friends, will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Survivors include her son, Scott Thomas Dugas and wife Terri of Baton Rouge; daughters, Claire Dugas Seneca and husband Jed of Irvine, CA, Denise Dugas Keaty and husband Scott of Baton Rouge; sisters, Amez Derouen of New Iberia, Hilda Viator and husband Ordley of New Iberia; grandchildren, David Dugas and wife Heather, Julie Dugas, Cali Seneca, Seth Seneca, Josh Keaty, Alex Keaty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Cleveland "Cleve" Dugas; son, David Wayne Dugas; father, Ferdinand Menard; mother, Edmae Romero Menard LeLeux; sister, Nora Broussard; step father, C.L. "Cap" LeLeux.
