Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Hazel Periou Guidry, 94, who passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in Arnaudville.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Brian Taylor will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Tina and Kelly Patin. Gift Bearers will be Bria Broussard and Mary Taylor.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Hazel was meticulous about her yard and loved working in her flower beds. She enjoyed rocking on her front porch, playing with her cat, Te-Meon, sewing and embroidering, reading, and coloring in her color books. She was always praying a rosary for those in need and saying special prayers while attending her weekly Masses. She will be remembered for her kindness, zest for life, and having a loving and giving heart.
She is survived by her son, Marcel Olivier and wife Delores of Arnaudville; daughters, Mary Taylor of Breaux Bridge and Patsy Guilbeau and husband Charlie of Arnaudville; son-in-law, Wayne Gauthier of Port Barre; sister, Irene Quebedeaux of Arnaudville; her grandchildren, Geraldine "Deanie" Taylor, Tina Graham, Herbert Taylor, Bryant Guilbeau, Terri Brasseaux, Jeremy Olivier, and Kelly Patin; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Usville, and Ophelia Doré Periou; 1st husband, Joseph Olivier; 2nd husband, Roxie Guidry; daughter, Cheryl Gauthier; sister, Editha P. Guidry; brothers, Roy Periou, Benoit Periou, Bernard Periou, and Henry Allemond.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Guilbeau, Herbert Taylor, Kris Brasseaux, Gage Graham, Paul Graham, and Joe Allemond.
