Hazel Usie Serrett

Henderson - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Hazel Usie Serrett, 89, who passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Gift bearers will be Diana Davis, Christina Faust and Audrey Faust. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Hazel spent many hours contributing to her church, Our Lady of Mercy. She loved maintaining the beauty of her flowerbeds, tending to her camellias and sewing for her family and friends. Hazel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving spouse of 66 years, Wesley Paul Serrett; daughter, Diana Serrett Davis and husband Jeff of Many, LA; brother, Macy Usie and wife Ida Mae Latiolais of Breaux Bridge; sister-in-law, Thelma Usie of Poche Bridge; grandchildren, Mikey Davis and Christina Faust and spouse Jared; and great-grandchild, Audrey Marie Faust. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Usie; mother, Celanie Benoit Usie; brother, Alfred Usie; and son, Richard "Dickie" Serrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff and Mikey Davis.
