Heath Paul Buford

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Heath Paul Buford, 29, who passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Iberia General Medical Center. Interment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum in New Iberia. Reverend Fr. Mike Arnaud will officiate at the funeral Mass and conduct the service. Heath was a machinist and a Quality Control Supervisor with S W Machine Shop for the last 8 years. He enjoyed restoring old cars, going to car shows, working on tractors and doing yard work. On June 3, 2000, Heath married his high school sweetheart, Chrissy Perez, and they were blessed on January 9, 2006 with the birth of their beautiful daughter, McKenzie Anne, whom he loved, cherished and adored. Heath was an Old soul in a young man's body, who will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. Survivors include his wife, Chrissy Perez Buford; his daughter, McKenzie Anne Buford, of New Iberia; his parents, Stephanie B. and Donald Comeaux, of New Iberia; his sister, Ashley Comeaux, of Dallas, TX; his maternal grandmother, Ronnie Buford; his paternal grandmother, Betty Comeaux, both of New Iberia; his uncles, Clyde P. Buford, Jr. and wife, Jeanette, Rodney Comeaux and wife, Karen, all of New Iberia, and Mike Comeaux and wife, Sharan, of Pagosa Springs, CO; his aunts, Jessica Viator and husband, Kevin, of Alexandria; Cathy Koch, of New Iberia, Marybeth Winmill, of Abbeville, Jane McCurley and husband, Bobby, and Louise Gaspard, all of New Iberia; his great aunt, Nancy Viator, and great uncle, Paul Boudreaux, Sr., and wife, Mary, all of New Iberia; his cousins, Monique Trahan, of New Iberia, and Hannah and Jonathon Viator, of Alexandria; his mother and father-in-law, Cheryl and Craig Perez; his sister-in-law, Chasity Perez; his brother-in-law, Craig Lopez; his nephew, Robert Savoie, Jr.; and many Buford and Comeaux cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Clyde P. Buford, Sr. and Ray Comeaux; his great grandmothers, Felie L. Dore and Mildred C. Buford; his great grandfathers, Leed Boudreaux, Delmar Dore, and Edwin Buford, Sr.; his great uncles, Terry Viator and Frederick Buford; and his cousin, Edwin J. Buford, III. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited by members of the Knights of Columbus at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Craig Perez, Allen Boudreaux, Paul Boudreaux, Jr., Clyde P. Buddy Buford, Jr., Kevin Viator, and Donald Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Kern Rouly, Kirk Castille, Mike Flash, William Repaske, and Jonathon Louviere.
