Breaux Bridge - Private Services will be held for the immediate family of Helen Ann Guidry Boudreaux, 69, who passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. She was surely welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord and her body was restored, as promised in the scriptures, her reward for a life of hardships and perseverance.
Helen was a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School, class of 1969. She was funny, tough and sassy; a "tell it like it is" kind of lady. Helen loved to garden, sew and crochet; she also made blankets and homemade Christmas ornaments for all of her family and friends. She had a love for birds, reading, playing games on her tablet, going to the casino and eating out. She was the neighborhood "advocat" and always had the "scoop on the loop." In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and dancing; it said that she was a great dancer. She loved her grandchildren tremendously, they were the center of her life and she did everything she could to make them happy. Helen was always up for an adventure, even if she didn't know where she was going or what she was going to do when she got there.
She raised 5 children and she had a special relationship with each one: Candice Louviere and her husband, Glen, Julie Raxsdale and her husband, John, Charles Boudreaux, Ernest Boudreaux and his wife, Carla and Jacqueline Benoit and her husband, Clint. Her grandchildren are: Ian Guidry, Brian Rodriguez, Victoria Benoit, Christopher Raxsdale, Alecsander Boudreaux, Courtney Raxsdale, April Degeyter, Alexandra Landry, Katelyn Boudreaux, Jason Benoit, Braxton, Chase Louviere (Kylie), Cari Louviere and Grant Boudreaux; and 1 great-grandson, Kade Pourciaux. Her surviving siblings are: Bobby Guidry and wife, Norma, Wilson Guidry and wife, Becky, Russell Guidry and wife, Kathy and Laura G. Duhon and husband, Kevin; and brother-in-law, Ronald Boudreaux. She had 2 godchildren: Barry Boudreaux and Crystal Guidry; and a large family full of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family which included her extra children whom all called her "Mom".
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bunice Knott Guidry; father, Murphy Guidry; sister, Fable G. Boudreaux; and niece, Anita Boudreaux Borel.
Our entire family would like to extend a tremendous debt of gratitude to LGMC ICU, all of the nurses and doctors who cared for her, Ms. Bru with Crossroads Church and Deacon Marcel Hebert for their time and prayers with mom while in the hospital, and Lauren "Lolo" Carlos. Lolo selflessly donated plasma to try to save our mom and we could never thank her enough for her generosity.
"I love you more my baby."
May eternal rest be granted to her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
