New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 3, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia, for Helen Delcambre Bourgeois, 73, who died on Saturday, September 1, 2012. Interment will follow in the Broussard Cemetery. Rev. Rusty Richard will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Born on November 28, 1938 in New Iberia, Mrs. Bourgeois enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, and playing with her dog 'Tickles'. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. A devoted prayer warrior, she prayed daily for everyone. Survivors include her son, Allen Bouregois, Jr. and wife Donna of New Iberia; daughters, Gaywynn Thomas and husband Michael of New Iberia, Sherry Duhon and husband Daniel of New Iberia, Allyson Cleveland and husband Larry of Norwood; sisters, Mary Ann Robicheaux of New Iberia, Johanna Bourgeois of New Iberia; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen John Bourgeois, Sr.; parents, Simonet and Helen Boudreaux Delcambre; brothers, Guy Delcambre, Vanice Delcambre; sister, Ozia David. Pallbearers will be Allen Bourgeois, Jr., Brady Bourgeois, Michael Desormeaux, Jr., Cody Thomas, Ross Duhon, and Alex Duhon. Honorary pallbearers include Scott Duhon, Michael Thomas, Daniel Duhon, and Larry Cleveland.
