New Iberia - Memorial services will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, in New Iberia for Helen Grace Broussard Upton, 78, who died Monday, February 4, 2008 in Alvin, Texas. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, in Delcambre. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A native of Delcambre and a longtime resident of New Iberia, she was a resident of Alvin, Texas for 2 years. Ms. Helen was retired from JP Morgan Chase Bank, formerly Bank One. She enjoyed flower gardening, growing plants, and solving crossword puzzles. Survivors include her daughter, Helen Gail Dore of Alvin, Texas; sons, Gene Martin Upton and wife Joanie of Baton Rouge, Richard Wayne Upton and wife JaLane of Abbeville; brother, Howard Broussard and wife Marion of Jefferson Island; sister, Pat Melancon and husband Johnny of Lafayette; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. ""Pop-Pop"" and Ida ""Mom"" Broussard; brothers, Earl Phillip Broussard and J.V. Broussard; son-in-law, Donald James Dore; and twin grandsons. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
