St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 10, 2006, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Helen Guidry Williams, 87, who died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at St. Martin Rehab and Nursing Center in St. Martinville. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was devoted to her church and her community, offering her many services. Mourning her departure, but cherishing her many beautiful memories are her children, Leander "Cush" Williams, Sr. and his wife, Gloria of St. Martinville, Thaddeus Williams of Washington, D.C., Paul Williams and his wife, Sharon of Panama City, FL, Cyrus Williams and his wife, Catherine of Lafayette, Sylvia Porche of Breaux Bridge, Patricia Williams of St. Martinville, Ann Mitchell of St. Martinville, Claudia Phillips of San Antonio, TX, Paulette Kately, and her husband, Lesley of Lafayette, Mary Williams of Washington, D.C., and Martha Alexander and her husband, Ozer of Breaux Bridge; seventeen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. Also, Mrs. Helen is survived by her brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert Williams; and her grandson, Troy Williams. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Pallbearers will be Dedrick Williams, Ozer Alexander, Jr., Leander Williams, Jr., Shawn Williams, Ignatius Williams, Gilbert Williams, and Isaiah Paul Kately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
