Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday, September 3, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Henrietta Angelle Begnaud, 98, who passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday and continue on Monday at 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. Father Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Leslie Perschall, Heather Grant, and Jeanne Olivier. Gift Bearers will be Matthew Perschall, Lucy Perschall and Emile Olivier. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Henrietta was a caregiver and devout Catholic throughout her life. She was a homemaker, raising her daughters while caring for her parents and in-laws. She later took care of her husband, while volunteering at St. Agnes Nursing Home. She was a kind-hearted, giving woman who never thought twice about lending a hand or a prayer to someone in need. Henrietta was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a dear friend to many who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Henrietta also worked for many years at The Superette in Breaux Bridge. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, the Home Demonstration Club and cleaned St. Bernard Church for several years. Henrietta enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and cutting her grass - even into her 90s. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing Bingo. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Johns and her husband David of Gretna and Sally Dugas and her husband David of Parks; three granddaughters, Leslie Perschall and her husband Trip of New Orleans, Heather Grant and her husband Scott of Gretna, and Jeanne Olivier and her husband Cy of Parks; five great grand children, Matthew Henry Perschall, Lucy Perschall, Emile Olivier, Grace Olivier and Rhys Grant; and one brother Pedro Angelle; a host of nieces and nephews, especially Fabian LeBlanc and Jan Roberts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wade P. Begnaud; her parents, Alphonse and Cecile Castille Angelle, Sr.; four brothers, John, Wade, Lewis, and Alphonse Angelle, Jr.; and five sisters, Mrs. Wade (Agnes) Landry, Mrs. Dudley (Lena) Patin, Mrs. Raymond (Aimee) Roberts, Mrs. Robert (Luce) Champagne, and Mrs. Allen (Odile) Delahoussaye. Pallbearers will be David Dugas, Cy Olivier, Rene Angelle, Scott Grant, Trip Perschall, and David Johns. Honorary pallbearers will be Pedro Angelle, Eddy LeBlanc and Ronnie Roberts. The family would like to give thanks to the staff at St. Agnes Nursing Home and her roommate, Mrs. Thelma Wiltz, who took special care of her in her final days.
