St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Henrietta Bourque Bienvenu, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rev. Fr. Austin Leger, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral Mass. Mrs. Bienvenu enjoyed reading and drinking coffee with her family and friends. She was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society at St. Martin de Tours for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her sons, David Michael Bienvenu and his wife, Vicki, of Lafayette, Robert Gerard Bienvenu, Jr., of Lafayette, Albert Joseph Bienvenu, of St. Martinville, and Burton Andrew Bienvenu and his wife, Shelly, of Abbeville; her daughters, Lisa Bienvenu Hebert and her husband, Craig, of New Iberia, Yvonne Bienvenu Marquette, of Baton Rouge; her brother, Phillip Bourque, of Morgan City; her sisters, Oline Gary and Velma Berard, both of St. Martinville; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Bienvenu; her parents, Superviel and Josephine Barras Bourque; her son, Donald Jude Bienvenu; her brother, Wade Bourque; and her sisters, Lucille Berard and Theresa Faught. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Friday, and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Craig Hebert, Rob Hinyub, Joey Berard, Robert Marquette, Lee Gary and Charlie Simon. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her sister and caretaker, Oline, for her unwavering love and devotion. Special thanks are also extended to Dr. Edward Lyons for his exceptional care and compassion. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
