Henry Joseph Dartez

Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2005, at St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Henry Joseph Dartez, 86, who died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Henry Dartez was born on December 12, 1918 to the late Cleophus Dartez and Clementine Patt Dartez. Henry married Louisiana Gabriel and to this union was born five children, Andrew, Lou Anna, Genevieve, Wilson, and Henry, Jr. Although his life was centered around his family, he was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring brother and a loyal friend. Henry was a farmer and he worked for Trappey's for over 20 years. ?He also worked at Evangeline Downs. Henry was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Louisiana; two sons, Andrew and Wilson; four sisters; and two brothers. He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters, Lou Anna (Paul) Guidry, Genevieve (Charles) Ray; his son, Henry Dartez, Jr., and daughters-in-law, Hedy, Sadie, and Sheryl; one brother; one sister; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2005 and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
