A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Saturday from 9:00 AM until Recitation of the Rosary at 2:00 PM.
Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Officiant.
Inurnment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
A lifelong area resident, Henry David Landry, Jr. was born on May 24, 1946 to the late Henry Sr. and Mary Ruth Peltier Landry. He was a 1964 graduate of Catholic High, and attended USL. He was the Administrator at Consolata Nursing Home for 38 years, then he transitioned into their Accountant until his death.
Mr. Landry served on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Nursing Home Association for many years. He was awarded Administrator of the Year in 1993. David served on numerous committees, including Building Committee, Facility Need Review Committee, Agency Liaison Committee, Constitution and By-Laws, Finance and Budget Committee, and Non-Proprietary Committee. He also served as Vice Chairman of the LNHA Service Corporation.
David was the Founding Member of Pit and Pot Supper Club. He was an avid LSU fan, whether it be in the stadium, or watching with friends in his office. He also enjoyed playing cards especially Hearts and Bridge. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Helen Dautreuil Landry; daughters, Amy Landry Delcambre and fiance, Glenn Roberts, and Bethany Shavell and husband Michael, all of Youngsville; a son, Henry "Trey" David Landry, III of Lafayette; four granddaughters, Madelyn and Camille Delcambre, Abigail Legnon, and Ella Shavell, all of Youngsville; two sisters, Susan Robinson of New Iberia, and Mary Ruth Dugas of Broussard; and a brother, Jeffrey Landry and wife Liz of Loreauville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Earl Landry.
