St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Henry Lee Savoy, Sr., 78, who passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church beginning at 1 pm and continue until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 pm. Rev. Stanley Jawa will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Ashli Savoy and Winifred Potier-Owens. Gift Bearer will be Mona Lasalle. Interment will follow at Methodist Cemtery in St. Martinville. Henry was a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church and also enjoyed going to his wifes church services at Highland Baptist Church during the holidays. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and friends, and especially loved cooking for them during his favorite holidays, New Years and Easter. He is survived by his wife, Somvang Phasavath of St. Martinville; his daughter, Marjorie Ann Savoy of St. Martinville; his son, Henry Savoy, Jr. of St. Martinville; three step sons, Tu Phasavath of St. Martinville, Xay Phasavath of Nashville, TN, and Dang Phasavath of Nashville, TN; his brother, Alfred Savoy, Sr. of St. Martinville; and his sister, Dorothy Savoy Potier of Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Halphen and Lillian Simmions Savoy; two sisters, Sylvia Savoy and Shirley S. Flugence; and his brother Lester Savoy.
