Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, March 10, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Herman John Chauffe, 64, who passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008 at St. Martin Hospital, in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Fr. Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass.
Mr. Chauffe proudly served his country during the Vietnam War having served in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Louisiana Swabbing Service for 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 476. Herman enjoyed fishing, working with his hands doing metal and wood projects, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Hebert Chauffe; one son, Dirk Shawn Chauffe; two daughters, Deidra Domingue and her husband, Carroll, and Tonya Hebert and her husband, Dwayne, all of Breaux Bridge; four brothers, Curtis Chauffe and his wife, Marianne, of Golden Meadow, Ronald Chauffe and his wife, Jeanette, Kenneth Chauffe and his wife, Jolaine, all of Breaux Bridge, and Allen Chauffe, Sr. and his wife, Louise, of Donaldsonville; one sister, Joyce Chauffe LeBlanc and her husband, Floyd, of Breaux Bridge; and his grandson, Jacob Hebert.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Potier; and his father, Theodore Chauffe.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Dirk Chauffe, David Girouard, Allen Chauffe, Sr., Kenneth Chauffe, Ronald Chauffe, Dwayne Hebert, Carroll Domingue, and Allen Chauffe, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Chauffe, Jr., John Huval, and Floyd LeBlanc.
