Hilda Landry Theriot, born on January 2, 1917 to Lucas and Laurence Landry, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center, after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 22, 2005 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge.
The Reverend Donald Leger will celebrate the funeral mass.
Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
She was a member of the Rosary Group of St. Bernard Church for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Bernard. She has been a member and past officer of the Woodmen of the World Lodge 452 and was active in the St. Martin Parish Home Demonstration Club in her earlier years.
She will always be remembered for the beautiful flowers that were ever present at her residence. Her flowers were a source of comfort for her and beauty for others to behold.
Survivors include her three daughters, Janis Theriot Russo and husband, Benny of Alexandria, Druscilla Theriot Quebedeaux, and husband, Leo of Eunice, and Claudia Theriot Cormier and husband, Anatole "Pete" of Lafayette; and one son, John Billis "J.B." Theriot, Jr., of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Patrick Landry and wife, Lilli of Sulphur; one sister-in-law, Iva Mae Landry of Parks; her grandchildren, Tessy Russo Sanli and husband, Kemal of Ridgeland, MS, Ben Russo and wife, Karren of Alexandria, Karla Huval Landry and husband, Kevin of Breaux Bridge, Kayla Huval Gary and husband, Conrad of LaPlace, Kurry Huval of Breaux Bridge, Nicole Cormier of Honolulu, HI, Michelle Cormier of Lafayette, Heather Theriot and fianc Ryan Armentor of Lafayette, Jody Quebedeaux and wife, Kelly of Hot Springs, AR, and Andy Quebedeaux of Shreveport; and her great grandchildren, Matthew Landry of Breaux Bridge, Andrew Jonathan Sanli of Ridgeland, MS, Shelby and Sydney Quebedeaux of Hot Springs, AR, and one on-the-way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Billis Theriot, Sr.; her father and mother, Lucas and Laurence Melancon Landry; one sister, Viola Landry LeBlanc; and four brothers, George, Rene, Clifton and Andrew Landry.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5 PM ~ 10 PM on Thursday and continue at 8 AM on Friday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Thursday.
