Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Hilda "Mother" Tauzin Thibodeaux, 99, who passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, and continue at 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday. Rev. Allen Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Sadi Hulin and Lisa Richard. Gift Bearers will be Kory Hebert, Noah Hulin, and Leah Hulin. Music will be provided Patrick Menard, accompanied by organist, Beth Hebert. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Hilda Tauzin Thibodeaux, 'Mother,' was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, on December 25, 1913. Being the 8th out of 14 children, she grew up as a hard worker, helping her parents with her siblings and in the fields. At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Evans Thibodeaux and gave birth to six children. When the youngest of the six children was only 11, Evans passed away and Mother was faced with the challenge of raising her family alone. She thrived as a wonderful mother, grandmother and caregiver. Looking after and caring for others was her calling in life. She touched the lives of so many people and wasnt a stranger to anyone. She was blessed to be surrounded by neighbors she considered family - Mrs. Nellie LeBlanc and Mrs. Joyce Theriot. Her house is the place her family calls 'Home.' From holidays, birthdays, and coffee on the porch, you could always count on Mother to be there. She was the heart and soul of a family of over 120 and will always hold a special place in everyones heart. The family would like to say a very special 'Thank You' to Dr. Deidre Stelly, the nurses and staff of St. Martin Hospital, and Hospice of Acadiana. To her sitters, Jennifer Langlinais, Louella Bijeaux, Elaine Johnson, Linda Gallet, and Rita Courville, 'Thank You' for being her Angels on Earth. Mother is survived by her son, Ray (Pat) Thibodeaux; five daughters, Yvonne Breaux, Jeanette Hebert, Judy (Don) Breaux, Carey (Don) Willingham, and Tina (Wayne) Begnaud; her brother, J.C. Tauzin; two sisters, Evelyn Meche and Alma Benoit; 17 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 29 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Evans Thibodeaux; her parents, Charles and Josephine Mathieu Tauzin; h; two sons-in-law, James "Uncle Jim" Hebert and Lester "Bucky" Breaux; three brothers, Blanc, Anicet and Nesley Tauzin; and seven sisters, Nemez Thibodeaux, Beulah Thibodeaux, Alfreda Guidry, Estelle Dupuis, Gladys Moran, Solange Guidry, and infant Bunice Tauzin. Pallbearers will be Dudley Breaux, Shane Breaux, John Hebert, Mike Thibodeaux, Brian Breaux, Josh Begnaud, and Jody Hebert.
