Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, December 5, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Horace Tee Boutin, Jr., 54, who passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Paul J. Lafleur , pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services. Readers will be Jacob Broussard and Charles Boatman. Gift bearers will be his sisters.
Horace was a native of Breaux Bridge, employed by Petro Quip Energy Service for 4 years and was in the oil industry most of his life. He will be missed by co-workers and friends for his kind hearted and friendly spirit. Horace sponsored the children of St. Jude, feed the children. He will be sadly missed by his friends and relatives, especially those he shared his sense of humor with by joking and making them laugh. He loved to cook for everyone and share his talent of preparing food. We Love You Big Guy
Survivors include his brother, Wilton J. Boutin and his companion, Arielle of Katy, Texas and Randall J. Boutin and his wife, Gail of New Iberia; his sisters, Blanche B. Babineaux and her husband Bobby J. of Lafayette, Eve B. Lafleur and her husband LeRoy of Lafayette, Mahelia Tina B. Hardy of Breaux Bridge and Tammy B. Landry and her husband, Larry of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Boutin, Sr. and Evelyn Theriot Boutin.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until time 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2008 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Keith Patin, Charles Boatman, Kenneth Melancon, Glenn Guillot, LeRoy Lafleur, Mike Laneaux, Darrin Freman and Ben Stacks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Julie Richard, Bobby Babineaux, Jacob Broussard, Larry Landry, Randall J. Boutin and Wilton J. Boutin.
Special thanks to the doctors and staff of the Oncology department and the dialysis department at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. A special thanks also to Dr. Mitchell Dugas, Dr. Ruth Smothers, Dr. Debra Johnson and Dr. Patrick Harrington.
