Howard Dunham

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 30, 2012 , at Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church in St. Martinville, for Howard Arthur Dunham, 72, who passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his residence in St. Martinville. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continue on Monday at 8 a.m. until 10.30 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. Rev. Jessie Charpentier, will conduct the services. Interment will follow at Methodist Cemetery on Resweber Highway in St. Martinville. Howard was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He also shared his love with over 75 foster children throughout the years. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Jenkins Memorial Baptist Church and Adult Choir. He was the XYZ Choir Director and was Superintendent at Martin Mills for 40 years in the knitting room. After retiring from Martin Mills, he enjoyed camping with family and playing golf. As a pastime, he became employed at The Farm Golf Course, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. Survivors include his mother, Rachel Howard Dunham of Campbellsville, KY; his wife, Betty Pruitt Dunham of St. Martinville; his son, Rodney Dunham of St. Martinville; his daughters, Debbie Dunham Rizer and her husband, Kevin of Houston, TX, Jane Dunham Manuel and her husband, Berkman of Mandeville, LA and Tonya Dunham Perry and her husband, Jason of Lafayette; his brothers, Gerald Dunham and his wife, Jane of Atlanta, GA and Irving Dunham and his wife, Connie of Huntsville, AL; his sisters, Sylvia Pike and her husband, Rick of Franklin, KY, and Laura Berry and her husband, Ronnie of Durham, NC; and his six grandchildren, Seth Rizer, Tabitha Rizer, Paige Hulin, Ian Perry, Ryan Perry, and Jenna Perry. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Dunham. Pallbearers will be Kevin Rizer, Seth Rizer, Berkman Manuel, Gerald Dunham, Jason Perry, and Irving Dunham.
