Howard "Buck" Sanders, aka, Poppie Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 17, 2016, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Howard "Buck" Sanders, aka, Poppie, 78, who passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Jackie Welsh and Tina Sanders. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Howard enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and tutoring children at Cecilia Primary as a foster grandparent. He loved children and spending time with his family and friends. Howard was employed with Pellerin Funeral Home as a Funeral Attendant. He is survived by his loving companion of 25 years, Dula Guidry of Cecilia; daughters, Tina Sanders of Grand Junction, CO and Jacqueline Welsh and husband, Richard of Parks; grandchildren, Ricky Sanders, Dylan Welsh, Tyler Stelly, Keiffer Stelly, Emily Stelly, Shelby Frederick, Christian Frederick, Alexis Robin and Jade Robin; brothers, Raymond Sanders and wife Lou Anna of Breaux Bridge, Wilbert Sanders and wife Barbara of Arnaudville; sister, Mary Picard of Breaux Bridge (Joe); step-sons, David Guidry and spouse Wanda of Arnaudville, Bruce, Kevin and Mardy Guidry all of Cecilia; step-daughters, Janet Stelly and spouse Timmy of Arnaudville, Jessica "Cricket" Frederick and spouse Hayward of Breaux Bridge, Kelly Jo Guidry of Cecilia, Amanda Robin and spouse James Dale of Mandeville; step great grandchildren, Jaxson, Addison and Kayleigh Stelly and Reid Blanchard. He was preceded in death by wife, LeeAnna Brasseaux Sanders; son, Michael James Sanders, parents, Joseph and Clemence Sanders; brothers, George, Joseph, Josue, Harry, Leroy and John Allen Sanders; grandchild, Kayla Stelly, Pallbearer will be Ricky Sanders, Mardy Guidry, Christian Frederick, Joseph Sanders, Joey Picard and Dale Robin. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard and Dylan Welsh, Jade Robin and Haywood Frederick.
