St.Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Friday, June 24, 2011, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Hubert Joseph 'Bee' Hulin, Sr., 92, who passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at his residence.
Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Julie Hulin and Flo Meadows. Gift Bearers will be Anita Bergeron and Glenda Hulin. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mr. Hulin, better known as 'Bee' to his family and friends, honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired contractor of Hubert Hulin Lumber Yard and served as a Board member of Teche Bank and Trust.
In his free time he enjoyed gardening, cutting grass, and riding his mule. He loved spending time with his family on any given occasion, and he will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include four sons, Murphy Hulin and wife, Julie, Ray Hulin and wife, Priscilla, Hubert 'Pete' Hulin, Jr., and wife, Linda, and Huey 'Gros' Hulin and wife, Tammy; two daughters, Frances Duplantis and husband, Walter, and Judy Hulin Roberts, all of St. Martinville; his brother, Galton Hulin, Sr. and wife, Adelia; two sisters, Lorraine Guidry and Mae Bergeron and husband, Lester; 18 grandchildren, Opie Prados and wife, Melissa, Christina Viator and husband, Dustin, Mindy Prados, Paige Landry and husband, Chris, Stephanie Hulin, Sully Hulin, Brody Hulin and wife, Megan, Chase Duplantis and wife, Meghan, Spencer Hulin and wife, Jade, Addy Hulin, Travis Hulin, Ross Hulin, Ashley Hulin, Kami Roberts, and Michael, Kelsey, Matthew, and Kelly Hulin; and 9 great grandchildren, Reece Poirier, Taylor Prados, Carter Hebert, Anthony Hulin, Miyon Landry, Caitlyn Hulin, Brandon Prados, Alix Hulin, Kaya Landry, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lorena Bertrand Hulin; his parents, Sully and Anita Champagne Hulin; his brother, Murphy Hulin; a great grandson, Dax Landry; and his brother-in-law, Alexander Guidry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continue on Friday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Sully Hulin, Ross Hulin, Travis Hulin, Spencer Hulin, Chase Duplantis, Brody Hulin, and Opie Prados.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Hulin, Matthew Hulin, Chris Landry, Dustin Viator, and Don Albert.
