Breaux Bridge A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Ida Zenon Champagne, 101, who passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013, in Houston, TX. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Champagne was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary daily and would often make a nine day Novena for those in need. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She is survived by three daughters, Birdie Thomas, Dorothy Louis, and Edith Jolivet; three sons, John Wilfred Champagne, Raymond Champagne, and Edward Champagne; all of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Yancy Champagne; her parents, Joseph and Louise Zenon; a grandchild, Kenneth Champagne; and two brothers, Joseph and Louis Zenon.
