Ida Mae Robichaux

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Ida Mae Robichaux, 96, who passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at her residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 11:30 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scripture readings will be done by Dr. Lonnie, Chris, and Roland J. Robichaux. Eucharistic Ministers will be Brenda Oubre and Rose Waguespack. Gift Bearers will Lisa Lormand, Joan Robichaux, and Pauline Duplantis. The Eulogy will be given by Kathy Whatley. Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Ida was born on August 30, 1922 in Loreauville, Louisiana to the late Delma and Rosa Judice. She graduated from Loreauville High School with honors and was a faithful member of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. She accomplished many things in her lifetime and was devoted to her community. Ida was a member and historian of the Catholic Daughters, served on the church council, a member of the Altar Society, served as Perpetual Adoration captain and religion teacher, cleaned the church altar monthly, and delivered bags to the needy. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club, Family Life Committee, and Farmers Home Administration Committee. Ida led a sewing group and baked cakes for the nursing home. She also judged 4-H Achievement Day and FCE Achievement Day. Ida will be remembered for her kind and selfless dedication to her family, friends, and her community. She is survived by her loving sons, Roland J. Robichaux and wife Nancy of St. Martinville, Dr. Chris Robichaux and wife Terry of Breaux Bridge, Dr. Lonnie Robichaux and wife Glynis of New Iberia; daughters, Brenda Oubre of New Iberia, Rose Waguespack of Pearland, TX, Pauline Duplantis and husband Richard of St. Martinville, Kathy Whatley and husband Jerry of Iowa, Joan Robichaux and husband Kenny Romero of Coteau, and Lisa Lormand and husband Jody of Lafayette; sister, Eunice Oubre of St. Martinville; 33 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland R. Robichaux; parents, Delma Judice, Sr. and Rosa Dugas Judice; sons, Wayne Robichaux and Carlyle Robichaux; grandson, Joseph Robichaux; and brothers, Shelby Judice, Delma Judice, Jr., Milton Judice, and Ralph Judice. Pallbearers will be Wayne Oubre, Dr. Jordan Whatley, Brady Robichaux, Michael Duplantis, Dr. Andrew Robichaux, John Robichaux, James Waguespack, Blair Lormand, Aaron Duplantis, and Chris Robichaux. Honorary pallbearers will be the remaining 33 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.
