Allen Breaux, Associate pastor of St. Bernard Church will conduct the services. ?Readers will be Casey Brown and Donna Rodebush. ?Gift Bearers are Sydni and Josh Champagne and Katie and Conner Brown. She was born May 22, 1920 in Winfield, Texas. ?Her husband, H.R. Brown was in the oilfield and relocated the family from Corpus Christi, Texas to Breaux Bridge in 1959. ?Although she lived here for 48 years, she was a Texan at heart and never lost her slow Texas twang. She was a bird lover and over the years had various parakeets. ?A few years ago, Dr. Cordova gave her two cockatiels and she taught those birds to talk just like her, Texas twang and all. ?Her birds had miles on them (even though they were in a cage) because she took them on trips. ?When she could no longer drive long distances, she would ask Dannie and Janis or Mark and Pam to drive her and the birds to the lake house or to see the grandkids. She liked to crochet and embroidery. ?In the evenings, she worked crossword puzzles. ?When she was stumped for an answer, she would call Linda and Haley and all three would lie awake trying to solve her puzzle. She loved to travel near and far. ?She went to Rome, Hawaii and Mexico. ?She loved the Smokey Mountains and panning for rubies in Arkansas. Jewelry was another passion. ?She left a legacy of jewelry to the girls in the family. ?She collected pieces everywhere she went and QVC network owes her a world of gratitude. She loved her family and being included in our lives, always ready to laugh and hear a funny story from one of her kids or grandkids. ?Not many 86-year-old grandmothers wore jeans and red cowboy boots, but she did. Survivors include 2 daughters, Jodi Jackson and her husband, Dave of Ada, Oklahoma, and Linda Barron and her husband Ronnie of Carencro, Louisiana; her 2 sons, Bill Brown and his wife, Rubye of League City, Texas and Dannie Brown and his wife, Janis of Parks, Louisiana; her sister, Maudie Sullivan of Robstown, Texas and her brother, Leonard May of Little Ferry, New Jersey; her 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Herman ""Pop"" Brown; her parents, J.H. May and Ora Teague May, and one sister, Helen McAnally. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 and continue at 7:00 AM, Thursday, April 12, 2007 until time of service.
