Irby "Big Irb" Livingston, Jr.

St. Martinville – With heavy hearts, we announce the upcoming services to honor and remember Irby Livingston Jr. affectionately known as “Big Irb,” who passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 02, 2024, at Our Savior’s Church Broussard Campus.

A visitation will take place at Our Savior’s Church Broussard Campus (655 LA-96, Broussard, La 70518) on Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Pastor Gabe Smith will officiate at the funeral service. 

Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Irby was born on July 12, 1968, in St. Martinville, Louisiana. Throughout his life, Irby’s love and knowledge for auto body and fender repair was second to none. He could look at a vehicle and know exactly what parts were needed for repair. He had an immense passion for cars, but especially muscle cars, if it was up to him, he would sit and watch those cars for hours. His dedication to his family, boundless knowledge, and warm spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Janise Bob Livingston; children, Mandriecka Francis, Tranise Conner, Lacie Livingston, Jermaine Conner Sr., and Destiny Conner; siblings, Marie Prade (Howard), James Livingston Sr. (Windy), Marcus Dalbany, and Peter Robertson Sr. (Rhonda); grandchildren, Jermaine Jr., Israel, Jayci, Kamdyn, Jordan, Jamilla, Paisley, Ji, and Kamryn; his stepfather, Roland Robertson; mother-in-law, Eula Lee; father-in-law, Lawrence Bob; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Irby Livingston, Sr.; mother, Alzina D. Robertson; sister, Dawn Dalbany; and his grandmother, Olive Chanette.

Pallbearers will be Mandriecka Francis, Peter Robertson, Eric Zenon, Justin Demouchet, Brian Harrison, and Beron Kerlegan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Livingston Sr., Marcus Dalbany, Jermaine Conner Sr., Kendall Livingston, Marley Prade, Brandon Robertson, Dennis Alexander, Romanus Robertson, Nickolas Calais and Harry Roberts.

The family of Irby Livingston, Jr. would like to express thanks for all the prayers, calls, texts, cards, flowers and meals, we are forever grateful. Special thanks to Pastor Gabe Smith, along with all our Church family at the Broussard Campus of Our Savior’s Church, thank you for walking with us through this journey and for all of your continued prayers. Thanks to Irby’s Care Team Dr. Philippe Prouet, Oncologist at Ochsner Cancer of Acadiana, and staff. Staff at Ochsner Lafayette General, and staff at Calcutta House, Hospice of Acadiana and staff. Thanks to our passionately committed life group for always being the strength when we needed it most, you all have truly been nothing short of amazing. To all of our family and friends, thank you for being the needed support for us to lean on one another through this difficult time.
