New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, on Monday, April 6, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Irene Walker Landry, 93, who passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2009 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum in Jeanerette. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. Born on January 25, 1916 in Jeanerette, Mrs. Landry worked as an attendant with her son, Wayne, at W.L. Landry Funeral Home in Jeanerette for 25 years. Survivors include her daughter, Meryln Landry Eddy and husband Tom of Franklin; grandchildren, Cyndi Hebert, Craig Barrilleaux, Kirk Barrilleaux, Kathryn Barrilleaux, Karen Aucoin, Andrea Lipshaw, Eric Landry, and Stephen Landry; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Luke "Son" Landry; son, Wayne Luke Landry; parents, Charles and Hortense Lyons Walker; grandson, Christopher Luke Landry; brothers, Roy Walker, Charles Walker, Dr. Ira "Butsy" Walker; sisters, Madge Walker and Ethel Kerne. Pallbearers will be Craig Barrilleaux, Kirk Barrilleaux, Eric Landry, Stephen Landry, Alex Aucoin, and Ethan Barrilleaux. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 11:00 AM until time of service at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
