Irene T. Poirier

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Irene T. Poirier, 86, who passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 2:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.

Father Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Kalli Latiolais and Kyle Breaux. Gift Bearers will be Russell Poirier and Mary Burns.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Irene was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Irene enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, playing cards, and going on vacation. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Irene will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by sons, Ricky J. Poirier (Dena), Russell J. Poirier (Mary Burns) and Jimmy A. Poirier; daughters, Linda Poirier, Yvonne Angelle (Butch), Vickie M. Kidder (Earl) and Connie A. Poirier; grandchildren, Jack Angelle (Tasha), Brooke Angelle Domingue (Jason), Kalli Latiolais (Zach), Shannon Poirier, Kelly Poirier, Hunter Poirier, Hailey Poirier, Shawn H. Breaux, Shane A. Breaux (Dawn), Jeremy Poirier (Brooke), April T. Fuselier (Hunter), Rusty J. Poirier, Dusty J. Poirier, Justin Boudreaux (Ashley) and Ashley B. Breaux (Kyle); 34 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Tauzin, Dave Tauzin and Allen Tauzin; and sisters, Elaine Pesson and Louella Thibodeaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Poirier; daughter, Cindy Poirier; parents, Alexis Tauzin and Inez Granger Tauzin; brother, Harris Tauzin; and sisters, Mabel Guidry and Mary Pesson.

Pallbearers will be Jack Angelle, Hunter Poirier, Shane A. Breaux, Rusty J. Poirier, Dusty J. Poirier, Jeremy Poirier, and Justin Boudreaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shannon Poirier and Shawn H. Breaux.
