Cecilia A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am, on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Irvin Paul Davis, 57, who passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at St. Martin Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 9 am Wednesday morning. Fr. Phainese will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures will be Beatrice and Lamont Wiltz. Serving as gift bearers will be Iyanni and Alaysiah Davis. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Irvin taught nieces and nephews the word of the day. Mr. Davis enjoyed reading, playing Dominos, and shooting pool with family and friends. He cherished moments spent with his daughter and grandchildren, taking them get ice cream at Sonic and cooking with family around the house. He is survived by his parents, Patrick Davis, Sr. and Beverly Mae A. Davis of Cecilia; his daughter, Tanny Touchet and husband, Jeremy, of St. Martinville; his brothers, Kenneth Davis and wife, Pamela, of Breaux Bridge, Marvin Davis and wife, Lydia, of Lafayette, Dennis Davis and wife,Yvonne, of Cecilia, and Edmond Davis of New Orleans; his sisters, Hazel Smith of Cecilia, Geneva Brown and husband, James, of Arnaudville, Geraldine Walker and husband, Floyd, of Cecilia, Denise Davis of Cecilia, and Mary Calais and husband, Patrick, of Carencro; his grandchildren, Emile Chevalier, Charisma Chevalier, Jordan Touchet, Jeremy Touchet, Jr., Chancie Chevalier, Bethanie Touchet, and Jewel Touchet; and his great-grandchildren, Daylon Thomas, Camran Chevalier and Kascen Hebert, He is preceded in death by his brothers, Patrick Davis, Jr. and Alvin Davis; his sister, Stella Davis; paternal grandparents, Amelia and Amilcar Davis; and maternal grandparents, Louis and Vernice Aubrey. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Davis, Dennis Davis, Marlon Goodie, Harold Alex Jr., Jermaine Davis, and Donavon Goodie. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Davis Sr., Marvin Davis, Edmond Davis, Emile Chevalier, Jeremy Touchet Jr., Jeremy Touchet Sr., Charles Morris, Raphael Goodie, Israel Singleton, Floyd Walker, James Brown, and Patrick Calais.
