Loreauville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, on Monday, August 22, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville, for Irving Joseph Judice, 77, who passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, in Loreauville.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday from 7:00 AM until 9:45 AM.
A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mr. Judice was born on May 21, 1939 to Octave and Gerdie Robichaux Judice. He attended LSU and worked for Patin's Tire and Appliance for 11 years. Mr. Judice was an Allstate Insurance Agent for 37 years and was semiretired but still employed by Champagne Financial Services. A member of the Loreavulle Lions Club and Bass Masters, he served on the St. Joseph Parish Council, and his hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, barbequing with family, and taking road trips.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Elise Darby Judice of Loreauville; sons, Dana Judice and wife Casey Johnson Judice of Lafayette, Steven Judice and wife Brandi Chatagnier Judice of Loreauville, Guy Judice of Loreauville; daughters, Tina Judice Champagne of Loreauville, Gwen Judice Babineaux and husband Dr. Todd Babineaux of New Iberia; brothers, Gerald Judice and wife Mary of Loreauville, Ray Judice and wife Miranda of Loreauville; sisters, Beverly Thibodeaux and husband Dudley Thibodeaux, Jr. of Loreauville, Mary Dean Greig of St. Martinville; 14 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernie Judice, and Darrell Judice.
Pallbearers will be Walter Harry, Ray Judice, Rodney Schmidt, Elton Landry, Don Louviere, and Jimmy Champagne.
Honorary pallbearers include Tayler Baldridge, Ryan Champagne, Dustin Waguespack, Shaun Champagne, Brooks Babineaux, Alex Babineaux, Ethan Alban, Brad Judice, and Dudley "Sonny" Thibodeaux.
The family would like to give special thanks to their favorite nurse, Mandi Oubre, and all of the staff at Kidney Care of Acadiana, the doctors and nurses at The Heart Hospital of Lafayette, A.M.G. Specialty Hospital, and Bridgeway Hospice for their care and compassion.
