Isabelle D. Daspit

St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 28, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville in St. Martinville for Isabelle D. Daspit, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be prayed by Dorothy Daspit at 10:30 am on Monday. Stephanie Leleaux will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Jeff Durand and Felicia Cummings. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Isabelle "Izzy" was born in St. Martinville to the late Johnny and Isabelle Pado Durand. She enjoyed dancing, listening to French music, going for walks, camping, gardening, traveling, shopping and spending time with friends and family. She especially loved spending time with babies, young children, and her care givers. Izzy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving spouse of 67 years, Willard Daspit, Sr.; son, Willard Daspit, Jr. and wife Lara; daughter, Liz Marie Daspit; sister, Loretta Durand Theriot; grandchildren, William Ozborne Onellion, Melindy Ann Daspit, Felicia Faye Cummings, Shelly Fatima Daspit, Emily Ann Daspit, and Justin Emmanuel Marceaux; great-grandchildren, Ava Grace George, Giovanni Kane Cummings, Ezran Jude Cummings, Steven Lee Touchet, Jr., Brianna Lee Daspit, Noah Lee Daspit, Molly Jewel Fernandez, and Maverick Jay Fernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Isabelle Pado Durand; infant daughter, Faye Marie Daspit; sisters, Mary Alice Borel, and Joyce Decourt; brothers, Lawrence, Paul, Alcee and Marin Durand; and grandchild, Mariah Dawn Marceaux. Pallbearers will be CJ Durand, Jeff Durand, Kim Douet, Willard Daspit Jr., Steven Touchet, and William Onellion.
