St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Ivan "Pepe" Joseph Guilbeaux ,65, who passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at University Medical Center in Lafayette.
Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum in New Iberia.
Rev. Austin P. Leger will conduct the services. Gift bearers will be Madison Patout, Genique Calais, Erin Guilbeaux, Killian Guilbeaux, Alyssa Hebert and Karson Guilbeaux. Readers will Xan Callais and Larry Blanchard.
Ivan enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, carpentry work and family gatherings.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hebert Guilbeaux of Cade; his sons, Jude Guilbeaux of Avery Island, Condry Guilbeaux and his wife, Marguerite; Kirk Guilbeaux and his wife, Layle all of St. Martinville; his stepsons, Nicholas Hebert of Lafayette, Jacob Hebert and Trent Hebert both of St. Martinville; his daughters, Audra Guilbeaux of Metairie and Ivanette Guilbeaux of Waggaman, LA; his brothers, Joel Guilbeaux of Coteau, Carroll Guilbeaux of New Iberia, Willard Guilbeaux of Avery Island, Lazaire , Gordy "Pete" and Gary "Bupsy" Guilbeaux all of New Iberia; his sisters, Merline Latiolais of Jeanerette, Elaine Cuccio of Broussard, Julia Ann Gachassin and Sandra "Poochie" Richard both of New Iberia; 5 grandchildren, one great grandchild and 3 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Hulin Guilbeaux and his parents, Gordy and Beulah Dubois Guilbeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008 and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Kyle "Coyote" Guilbeaux, Condry Guilbeaux, Kirk Guilbeaux, Scott Guilbeaux, Richard and Keith "Ponookie" LeCroix.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll Wayne Guilbeaux, Jacob Hebert, Jude Guilbeaux, Corey Paul Guilbeaux and Ray Gachassin.
