New Iberia - Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Ivy Joseph Maturin, 84, who passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.
Rev. Wesley Jackson will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
A resident of Rynella, Ivy Joseph Maturin was born in Vermilion Parish on March 23, 1936 to the late Sylvain Maturin and Hazel Doucet Maturin. He worked as a driller at Morton Salt Mine, and was a longtime member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jeanerette. Mr. Maturin enjoyed hunting, crawfishing, and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Ivy is survived by his loving wife, Carol Elaine Derouen Maturin; sons, Tommy (wife Jane) Maturin of Branch, and Glenn (fiancée Dacie Babineaux) Maturin of New Iberia; daughters, Laurie Maturin of New Iberia, and Lisa (husband Scott) Simon of Ball; grandchildren, John (wife Kelly) Maturin, Caleb (wife Amanda) Maturin, Ivy James Maturin, Mariah (fiancé Jarod Weatheread) Maturin, Clinton (wife Heather) Maturin, Heather (husband Brandon) Lefort, Jack Romero, II, Justin Morgan, Joy (husband Kenny) Elliott, Jana (husband Joshua) Escuriex, and Amy (husband Terry Jr.) Long; a sister-in-law, Rozlyn Maturin of Chicago; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Maturin.
Pallbearers will be John Maturin, Caleb Maturin, Ivy Maturin, Clinton Maturin, Justin Morgan, and Cole Maturin.
