Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Cecilia for Ivy Charles Naquin, 85, who passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 10 am on Tuesday by Deacon Ken Soignier. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Dawn Hebert Womack and Belinda "Bea" Berard. Gift bearers will be Amie Johannes, Ashley and Tiffany Fisher. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Ivy "Paw" "Pop" "Parrin" was born to the late Arthur Naquin and Villa Kidder Naquin (Pontiff) in Arnaudville, LA. He worked as a Dredge Boat Mechanic for Jankie Dredging/OKC Dredging for 35 years. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed going to mass every Sunday. Ivy enjoyed mowing his yard, listening to his French music every Saturday and Sunday mornings, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Esmond Barker for keeping his heart going all these years. They would also like to thank Dr. Edward Breaux and his entire staff , Dr. Jeff Griazzaffi and his entire staff for their love and support. Pop's family would like to express special thanks to John and Toby Landry (his adopted sons) of John's Auto Repair for their special bond and friendship. Ivy will be remembered for his daily visits to Green's Piggly Wiggly, John's Auto Repair and the Cecilia Post Office. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse of 58 years, Georgia Knott Naquin; daughters, Pamela Naquin Hebert and husband Charles Maxie Hebert, Sr., and Brenda Naquin Fisher of Cecilia, La; his brother, Calvin Naquin and wife Zella of Central, La; his sister, Geraldine Naquin Lormand and husband Batmost of Arnaudville, La; grandchildren, Amie Johannes, Kristopher Johannes, Ashley Fisher, and Tiffany Fisher; step grandchildren, Charles Hebert, Jr., Desiree Hebert Thomas, and Dawn Hebert Womack; 4 great grandchildren; and 8 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Naquin; mother, Marie Villa Kidder Naquin Pontiff; and sister, Patricia (Pat) Rose Naquin. Pallbearers will be Charles Maxie Hebert, Sr., Kristopher Johannes, Mark Zerangue, Thomas Vanhorn, Kerry Lormand, Toby Landry, John Landry, and Danny Wyble.
